The National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century is comprised of 46 state societies and one international society in Canada. These state societies are further divided into local chapters. Our 11,500 members share a common interest in American history, love of and respect for our nation and a desire to work together in harmonious fellowship to achieve the important goals stated in the Object of the Society.
The Edward Maxey Sr Chapter was organized by Mrs. Polly Jane Bostick Statham in Sherman, Texas on 9 May 1990. Our chapter, named in honor of Mrs. Statham's ancestor, was chartered on 29 January 1991.
Members of the Edward Maxey Sr Chapter have been active workers for the Texas Society on the state level as well as serving as officers and committee chairmen for the National Society.
The Edward Maxey Sr Chapter meets twice a year on the second Wednesday of September and February. During our meetings, we conduct chapter business and listen to a program of historical significance presented by a guest speaker or chapter member. Most of all, we enjoy the company of good friends and distant "cousins."
If you would like to attend one of our meetings or for more information about the Edward Maxey Sr Chapter, please contact one of our officers. You'll find their email addresses on the Officers page.
